We are a group of teenage girls from Central Hawkes Bay College changing the game in the cosmetic and sunscreen industry! Our innovation is showcased in our products, business, and community.
We aim to grow awareness for skin cancer and sun safety in both our community and yours, and ultimately to inspire everyone to use sun protection, and practice sun safety.
Young Enterprise
The Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is an educational initiative that empowers students to tap into their entrepreneurial potential and gain first-hand experience in the start-up world. This nationwide program enables students to create, launch, and manage their own business ventures, providing them with invaluable practical experience while nurturing essential entrepreneurial skills.
Our way of giving back
We donate 15 percent of our final profits to the local Central Hawkes Bay Cancer Society. We feel this donation is a small way of giving back to the Central Hawkes Bay Cancer Society after what they do for the local community. We also want to bring awareness to sun safety and skin cancer, so Retouch & Co sees this a very purposeful donation.
Our Story
Established in 2024 as Retouch & Co by three up-and-coming entrepreneurs Neeve Smith, Greta Minehan & Maddie Ewen.
We started our business through the Young Enterprise Scheme. One of the co-founders, Maddie Ewen, was at a Hawkes Bay Festival in the hot summers sun when she realised she was getting burnt but couldn't reapply her sunscreen, due to the fact she had makeup on. Maddie did not want to smudge her makeup and didn't want to get a greasy look. From there Neeve Smith (CEO), Greta Minehan (CFO), and Maddie Ewen (DOM) developed Retouch, a secondary sunscreen, a mattifying powder with SPF, to reapply over makeup. But this was only the beginning! As Maddie pursued out of school activities Liberty Ormond joined our team and Retouch & Co was back in business! As 2025 began, Retouch & Co dropped a new product, a tinted version of Retouch called Retouch+, which has just launched!
